The gala event, hosted annually by the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, witnessed the Calgary business community coming together in droves to celebrate exceptional pioneers from every quadrant of our city. It is a tremendous privilege to stand alongside these dedicated leaders who are actively shaping their communities for the better.
At SANDSTONE, our commitment to social entrepreneurship runs deep. Our initiatives, such as the annual CONNECTS speaker evening, sponsorship of Calgary's Top 7 Over 70 event, our mentorship program with InterGen, which connects emerging entrepreneurs with seasoned executives, and being the champion sponsor of the Calgary Surge Assist program, all revolve around building the Commons — the very essence of our business.
Notably, SANDSTONE has earned the esteemed designation of a Certified B-Corporation. This recognition is reserved for businesses that adhere to rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, operate with transparency, and legally expand their corporate mission to prioritize both profit and purpose. Our dedication to giving back to our community goes beyond philanthropical investments; we harness the skills and expertise of our employees to make a meaningful impact. Each SANDSTONE team member is allotted 40 hours of paid volunteer time annually and dedicates numerous additional hours to support organizations like the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, InterGen, the Global Business Forum, and many more. Since 2006, SANDSTONE has proudly held the designation of an Imagine Canada 'Caring Company,' acknowledging our excellence in community investment responsibility.
